When you think of Bali, you might first picture its beautiful beaches and stunning temples. But there’s another side to this island that completely amazed me which are the incredible waterfalls. Each one has its own special vibe, from quiet places perfect for relaxing to exciting spots where you can jump into deep pools. I’ve been lucky to visit seven of these amazing waterfalls and I want to share my adventures with you. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful escape or an exciting day out, Bali’s waterfalls have something for everyone.

1. Sekumpul Waterfall

One of the best parts of my Bali vacation was visiting Sekumpul Waterfall. It’s tucked away in the northern part of the island and takes some effort to get to but it’s definitely worth it. The trip starts with a drive through small villages, where you can see how the locals live. The walk to the waterfall is a bit of a climb through lots of trees and across a few streams. It’s like being in an adventure movie!

When you finally get to the waterfall, it feels like a prize for all your hard work. There are seven different waterfalls, one flowing into the next which are all surrounded by beautiful plants and trees. It’s an amazing sight! You can also swim in the natural pools. The water is fresh and cool and a great way to cool down after the humid walk. Just relaxing by the water, surrounded by nature is incredibly peaceful where it really shows the wild and untouched side of Bali.

2. Tegenungan Waterfall

Not far from Ubud is Tegenungan Waterfall, a great spot that’s easy to get to and fun for a day out with the family. The ride over from Ubud is short and you pass some really pretty scenery along the way. When you get to the waterfall, you’ll hear it before you see it. There’s something really special about the sound of water crashing down! The waterfall itself is big and beautiful where it is set against a backdrop of trees and a big pool of water at the bottom where everyone can swim. There are steps that lead right down to the water so it’s easy to get to. I loved just sitting by the edge, dipping my toes in the water and taking in the view. It’s a relaxing place to chill out and there are even little shops around where you can grab a bite to eat or pick up a souvenir. Tegenungan is perfect if you’re looking for a quick nature break without going too far from the comforts of the town. It’s busy, lively and there’s always something fun to see or do.

3. Gitgit Waterfall

One of the most peaceful parts of my Bali vacation was visiting Gitgit Waterfall. It’s hidden away between Bedugul’s cool highlands and the coastal area of Singaraja, almost like a secret spot. The walk to the waterfall is pretty easy and really pretty. The path is surrounded by a quiet forest that makes the whole place feel calm and special. You can hear the waterfall as you walk and it sounds like nature’s own music, really relaxing and gentle. When you finally see Gitgit it’s gorgeous. The water flows down into a clear pool and there’s green everywhere full with trees, plants, and vines which makes It feel like you’re in a hidden garden. It’s a great spot if you want to get away from noisy crowds and just enjoy some quiet time in nature.

4. Aling Aling Waterfall

If you’re up for a bit more excitement on your Bali vacation, Aling Aling Waterfall is the place to be. It’s up north and offers a lot more than just views. You can jump off cliffs and slide down natural water slides. The waterfall drops from a high cliff into a deep pool below and it’s a total thrill. I remember feeling my heart race as I jumped into the water from a cliff for the first time. It was so much fun and really refreshing! The scenery around Aling Aling is stunning too, with lots of lush greenery and views that make you feel like you’re in an adventure movie. Jumping and sliding at the waterfall was one of the most exciting parts of my vacation. It’s a great place for anyone who loves a bit of an adrenaline rush and wants to experience something really different.

5. Nungnung Waterfall

I absolutely loved visiting Nungnung Waterfall during my Bali vacation. It’s a pretty big deal because you have to climb down a whole bunch of stairs to get there. Yes, it’s a bit tiring but trust me, it’s so worth it. When you reach the bottom, you’re met with this huge waterfall that’s so loud and powerful it almost feels like it’s raining. The cool mist from the water feels amazing after the walk down. It’s really something to see all that water crashing into the basin below where it makes you feel tiny in the best way. I spent some time just sitting there cooling off and watching this natural show. The hike back up was a challenge but I kept thinking about the incredible view I had just seen. It was one of those moments where you really feel you’ve experienced something special.

6. Leke Leke Waterfall

Leke Leke Waterfall was another highlight but in a quieter, more secret kind of way. It’s not as famous as I actually liked because it meant fewer people and more peace. The path to the waterfall is lovely. It winds through the forest and everything is green. It feels a bit like you’re on an adventure to discover something hidden. When I got to the waterfall, it was like stepping into a hidden corner of paradise. The waterfall is thinner than others making this elegant stream that falls into a peaceful pool below. I just loved how calm it was there. I could sit and listen to the gentle water sounds all day. It’s a great spot to clear your head and enjoy some quiet time away from crowds.

7. Banyumala Twin Waterfall

Going to Banyumala Twin Waterfall was one of the coolest parts of my Bali vacation. This place feels like a secret spot hidden away in the jungle. Getting there is quite an adventure. You hike through a thick jungle which makes you feel like a real explorer. When you see the waterfall for the first time, it’s amazing. There are two waterfalls right next to each other falling into a big and calm pool, it looks like something out of a movie. I was eager to dive into the water. It felt wonderfully refreshing, especially after the warm hike. Swimming near the waterfalls was both peaceful and enjoyable.
